Biodiesel: Benefits of Technochem Technology
- The plant layout is modular and compact. It reduces the need for on-site construction of structure, piping, insulation, and testing.
- The process is continuous (not a batch process).
- The system includes pre-treatment (degumming, deacidification, and dehydration). Proper pre-treatment is essential to reduce the consumption of catalyst and to reduce the time for reaction with methanol. It is also necessary to meet ASTM or EN specifications.
- Multiple feedstocks can be used. However, some feedstocks may require additional equipment for pre-treatment.
- The system includes methanol recovery system so excess methanol is recovered and reused instead of being wasted. Methanol is dried to a level suitable for reuse.
- The glycerin is 80 to 85% concentration and contains very small quantity of methanol.
- The plant can be set up to remove soaps from biodiesel either via water wash or dry wash (by using solid adsorbents).
- Self-cleaning centrifuges are provided instead of manual cleaning centrifuges in pre-treatment section.
- All centrifuges are "New," not "Refurbished" unless specified by the clients.
